[ Hello! You have reached: "Walter Sullivan". Unfortunately they cannot answer the phone right now. Leave a message after the beep and they will return your call. ]
Hey Walter! You been to Ilex Forest, right? Cause I'm headed there now, gonna try and catch some Pokemon. Figured I'd ask if you had any recs for me!
[The view on the 'gear is one from the road. Jimmy is sprawled comfortably under a tree in undershirt and suspenders, a blade of grasp between his teeth. Off to the side, a Buneary and a Liepard can be seen playing.]
Hello Jimmy. Yes, I have. I originally intended to catch a Hoothoot. [ But another Pokemon had different plans. ] There's a lot of grass and bug types there, but I'm only familiar with the one I caught. He's recently reached his final form actually. I did introduce you to Reed, didn't I?
[ In comparison to the natural outdoors Jimmy was calling from, Walter was sat up to a table, window open and a notepad in front of him. Seems he had been int he middle of writing when Jimmy had called. ]
Yes. He attacked the Hoothoot I had weakened and then headbutt the pokeball to get inside it. [ He turned and called into the house, although his voice was still soft and not really at shouting volume. ]
Reed, please come here. Jimmy wants to see you. [ He turned back. ] He was a Rowlet back then. They're similar in appearance to Hoothoots; they're both spherical with large faces and little wings. He's a Decidueye now.
Ah, type coverage...I've been looking at my teama bout that. There's a few types I'm lacking...Water is one of them. I'm not sure where to get one of those.
Well damn, look at him now! I don't got any of those new ones yet, he's really cool looking! What type is he?
[Because that is seriously one cool looking Pokemon.]
I never really thought about it, cause of how I got all mine, but I'm really heavy skewed to fire. Water ones...probably around big bodies of water. Like the beaches by Ecruteak and places like that.
We outta go out together sometime, looking for mons!
I'd like that. I'd like to find some Pokemon from a lake...I grew up near one and it was always quiet and peaceful. I have heard of a place called the Lake of Rage-
[ And lo, as he's talking, Reed appears! He strolls up behind Walter and notices Jimmy. He coos - and tries to jump up onto Walter. Who ends up with his shoulders flat on the table he was sat at. Reed bent over, trilling like the happy, man-sized owl he was. ]
Reed. You're too big. [ Thankfully Reed hopped off him, but was then immediately right by his side, puffing up his feathers. Pay attention to him, he is here. Walter gave Reed a dry but affectionate look. ] He's a grass and ghost type. He used to be grass and flying. He uses his feathers as arrows to attack.
Then let's do it! I got all kinds of awesome camping gear! And camping's way more fun with friends. Lake of Rage? Yeah I heard of that place, thought of checking it out. Wanna?
Ha! Okay, wow, they're even cooler looking in person. I mean...it's not really in person but it ain't just a picture in the 'dex! You got yourself one crazy cool 'mon there, my friend!
[ YES YOU HAVE PLEASED THE OWL. Reed looked immensely proud of himself, closing his eyes and cooing when Walter pet his chest feathers. ]
He is. [ Reed immediately hopped closer and began to fuss over Walter's hair, despite Walter's attempts to lean away because no, stop. He sighed and ended up just letting him do that. Birds. And he need to focus on his conversation with Jimmy. At the mention of going somewhere as a trip, he slowly nodded. ]
I would like to. The Lake has cabins available to rent, for only a few days instead of a month. From what I've heard.
I don't know what people do. The lake I lived by...Silent Hill was a tourist town but I wasn't really raised in the town itself. Just in the woods nearby.
But it's nice to have somewhere to stay. Better than sleeping rough. [ Which he has experience of. Camping isn't that different to it really. He can't help feeling a little awkward now it was actually being confirmed. ]
When shall we go? I have no plans at the moment, and I can warp to Mahogany.
You're already on your way there. And a grass type would help with catching the water ones. [ Oh no now he feels awkward about Jimmy changing his plans for him. ]
Maybe next weekend? Then you have time to enjoy Ilex beforehand.
[ Thankfully Reed opted to sat right behind Walter on the chair, so he can still lean over him as if perching on him. Walter blinked at the sight of the Bunery. Oh. Oh that was cute. ]
A Buneary. [ While his Bewear captured the big, pink nature of Silent Hill's cartoon mascot, Buneary captured the more rabbit-like aspect. Especially with the fluff around her stomach that lookd like she was wearing pants. ]
Yes. And I have found that some Pokemon of mine do not enjoy battle as much as others. [ He recently realised that his Mimikyu had a taste for battle while his Phantump was more easy going about it. ]
How is Omi as well? Assumption uses my Gear more often than I do to call his friends.
Yeah, same. I got a couple ain't into it. That's cool, though, I don't care.
Oh yeah, he's doing good! I mean, as good as he ever is, he's always a little...I dunno. Serious, I guess? I don't think he's got enough friends to even call...
My Blaziken does that, though! She uses my 'gear to call her boyfriend. Husband? I dunno how it works with Pokemon.
Darkness does that with his partner, Lyra. He even changed the name of the contact to 'My Star'. I was very confused when I saw that.
I'm glad that he's happy. That all of them are. ...they deserve a better trainer than me but. They seem to like me anyway. [ Truly Pokemon are wonderful creatures. ]

Yeah, a lot of people been telling me I outta have more grass and bug types, for a better rounded selection. I really don't got many.
He's the one you got by accident, right, when you were trying to catch that Hoothoot?

Oh yeah? Hey, I never done that. I always just tent and bag it! But that's what people do, ain't it? They rent cabins at lakes in the summer.
[Jimmy means normal, financially stable people. Which they are, at least here.]
Hell yeah, let's do it!

Whenever! I mean, I was gonna go to Ilex but I'd rather go to the lake with you than down there by myself. I can get to Mahogany.

Okay, yeah, next weekend works! I need to figure out what team to bring, too.

Reed no. You're too- [ Aaaand he's face down on the desk again with this giant owl on his back. ]
Reed. Please.

[Jimmy laughs, catching the attention of his Buneary. Flower hops over, curious.]

What kind of Pokemon is that?

[He scratches the sweet natured Pokemon between her ears.]
She loves everybody.
