[ Hello! You have reached: "Walter Sullivan". Unfortunately they cannot answer the phone right now. Leave a message after the beep and they will return your call. ]
[Visuals gave him an eye of what he was dealing with. It helped him create a profile of the individual. A voice did nothing for him. At least he had a name now, though.]
Yes, that was Rocket and Reno. Reno's my original partner and Rocket came from the Sevii Islands.
[Cissnei stepped to the side just in time to show off Rocket leaning down to get more on Reno's level, the three heads looking ridiculously amused as the Vulpix hopped about in delight.]
I've been told that Rocket is a variation of the normal Exeggutor.
If you insist, then you shall have your chance to see me. [ Claudia murmured. Walter took in the appearance of Rocket, quietly stunned that such a Pokemon existed. ]
I haven't seen a regular version of Exeggutor yet. You have seen both of mine; my Marowak and my Vulpix.
[ Claudia pawed at Walter's leg, giving a soft cry and looking pointedly at the gear. He gave the gear to Joseph, who simply winked mischievously at Tseng, as he picked her up, cradling her in one arm. When the gear was returned to Walter it would show Claudia as well, lying over his forearm and watching the screen with those sharp, mysterious eyes of hers. She looked more mature than the newly-hatched kit Cissnei saw before. ]
They're a lot smaller. Not palm tree like at all and, if I'm remembering right, they aren't dragon-type either.
[She was quite fond of her goofy dragon-plant. Rocket had proven herself to be quite a valuable member of Cissnei's team.
Whatever Tseng was expecting, it wasn't this. A shocked looked crosses his face before the Riolu looks briefly flustered, clearly battling some emotions he wasn't use to feeling. He's quick to compose himself before shooting Joseph a quick, sharp look, slowly focusing on Claudia again.]
..A vulpix, correct?
[At the sight of Claudia, Cissnei smiled, nodding to the lovely creature.]
Hello. I am a Vulpix; I'm told my kind is known as 'Alolan'. I'm sorry if my conduct was rude; I did not think I would become the focus of this conversation
[ Claudia nodded politely to both Tseng and Cissnei when addressed, a trait she had picked up from Walter when he greeted people. She assumed Tseng's shock came from expecting a different Pokemon than what she was and curled her tails in front of her body like a fan, a little subconscious due to his reaction. Joseph also spotted the reaction and grinned to himself when Tseng looked at if, as if daring to say anything. He could already tell Source would have a field day if she was here!
Walter smiled softly and stroked his fingertips over her back gently. ]
There's no need to apologize. I just prefer seeing others when I'm speaking to them.
[Tseng is definitely flustered and his trainer seems to notice, Cissnei's lips quirking as she reaches up to scratch one of his ears gently.]
She's gorgeous, Walter.
[Absolutely gorgeous. Cissnei was fond of her own vulpix but there was something about the Alolan variation that was very appealing.
Speaking of her own Vulpix.
Cissnei jerks back as suddenly a three headed palm tree drops into the frame, curious about what's going on as she grins at everyone on the other end. Reno, who had been on Rocket's head, pounced onto Tseng who let out a yelp.]
Whatcha lookin' at, Tseng-y~
Get off me!
[The pair ended up in Cissnei's arms, the Riolu pushing at the Vulpix's face as said fox grinned and tried to turn around so he could plant his butt on the other and sit on him.]
[ Oh, he was more used to Kantoian Vulpixes. That explained the look he had given her, and perhaps his discomfort with her. Claudia kept her tails curled in front of her. Joseph giggled when he heard Reno's....affectionate nickname for him. ]
Tsengy? Oh, we might be interrupting something now! [ Claudia gave him a look, as Assumption tiptoed to try and peek at the Gear too. She remained polite...even as Reno tried to shove his ass onto Tseng. ] Hello to both of you too.
[ Walter watched the chaos, a little bemused...and glad his Pokemon didn't try to sit on each other. The worst offender for that he had was Reed, who kept trying to perch on him despite now being roughly the same height as him. ]
She is. Your Pokemon seem quite...varied. [ They were a definitely mixed bunch from both their behaviour to their appearances. ]
[Joseph he is seriously going to end you. That's what the glare he's shooting at the Weavile says as he gives Reno a hard shove. The Vulpix tumbles out of Cissnei's arms with a merry little laugh, obviously not bothered by the treatment.
Gently moving Rocket's head out of the way, Cissnei snorts in amusement at Walter's comment.]
I will admit that I have more canine-like Pokemon than anything else but I've been trying to fill out my group as best I can.
[In her arms, Tseng snorts softly, trying to smooth his fur and make himself look good..for no reason at all.]
I seem to have acquired a number of ghost Pokemon. I enjoy their company, but I am lacking certain types.
[ He actually didn't have a Ground type since Assumption had evolved. And he knew that whatever could defeat his ghosts, such as a Dark type, could only be defeated one or two of his team. He wasn't fond of dogs and prayed that nobody else ever give him one; Sniffer was enough.
Claudia settled comfortably against Walter. Joseph wasn't put off by Tseng's glare but he wasn't going to provoke him either, simply smiling and watching this play out. ]
I'm fortunate that the majority of my team are respectful. Source not included. [ Claudia commented. But even then, Source didn't try to shove her body into people. ]
I have a pair of ghosts. I've thought about seeing what others I could find but I haven't had much luck so far.
[Just dogs. Lots of dogs. She really couldn't explain why she enjoyed them so much but their company was pleasant enough.
A little more composed--though he does shoot one last glare to where Reno is earning him a twilling laugh--Tseng leans back against Cissnei as he sits crossed-legged in her arms.]
A few of my teammates are respectful enough. I tend to associate with them and leave the..others to entertain themselves.
I seem to have been fortunate in finding them...or in having them find me. I did not expect Assumption to become one too. [ Said ghost-type gave a cheerful cry at his mention, and Walter dropped his free hand to pet the top of his skull. Several of his ghost type Pokemon found him, rather than him seeking them out. Doll, Bea...and little did he know, two more ghosts would be waiting for him when he returned. ]
I see. I have my own group of friends, but for the most part there is little conflict within our team. Why do you call him 'Tsengy'? [ Claudia directed her question to Reno. Nicknames...weren't really common among Walter's team. He addressed them with their full names and for the most part, it stuck with the team too. ]
That seems to be how I am with canines and fox-like Pokemon. I still haven't had any luck finding an Eevee though.
[Eventually she'd find one. And then she'd need one of each.]
Normally Assumption would have been a ground-type, correct?
[Tseng was a bit disappointed that Claudia decided to speak to Reno but he wasn't going to protest it, instead just glaring down at the normal Vulpix who snickered off screen.]
Hm. I think I will stick with Tseng...that is what you prefer, isn't it? [ A nickname only worked if someone liked it, just as their name would only work if they responded to it. At least, that's how Claudia was seeing this. ]
Yes. I have yet to find any other Cubones, or other ground types who have...caught my eye yet. But I know I will need one. Assumption has the benefits of his past typing, but it feels sensible to have one. [ But thus far, many ground types seemed bulky or simply ill-fitting for him. He had recently gone out to correct the lack of water types on his team, but there were still gaps. ]
I did have an Eevee once. But, she was intended to be a Ponyta.
[Tseng's gaze went back to Claudia and he visibly relaxed, offering the faintest of smiles.]
Yes, it is. Thank you, Miss Claudia.
[Down below, Reno snicker-snorted softly before he darts off, Rocket toddling after him to see what he was getting into now.
Cissnei glanced after them, grinning fondly.]
I was actually short a ground-type but I recently caught myself a Turtwig and it's final evolution is duel-type so that will fill in things nicely, I think.
[Looking back at Walter she let's out an amused sound.]
Yes. And once she hatched, she noticed a Fire Stone I had and immediately evolved. But, I am used to her now. I wouldn't know where you would find one in the wild, however.
[ It hadn't been great, given his issues with dogs - at that time he had only recently gotten the confidence to take in a Vulpix. But he was able to train with her now, and he had grown used to her company. Even if she was a bit clingy and possessive of his company with humans. ]
[ Claudia sat up a little straighter. ] It's only right to call you by your preferred name. You do not need to call me Miss. Only Claudia.
She's a little under three feet tall. They are somewhat canine-like, but it's more ambiguous than other Pokemon. [ He'd learned to appreciate that after getting a more 'true' dog Pokemon, a Rockruff. ] I have been constantly...thinking about evolving some of my other Pokemon, but I'm not sure given the size they would become. [ He loved both of his Vulpixes dearly. But they would become much larger as Ninetales, and he wasn't sure in his ability to handle them at that size. ]
[ Claudia could tell that Tseng seemed a little uncomfortable talking to her, but wasn't sure why. She hadn't said anything offensive, as far as she was aware, and he seemed to appreciate her using the name he chose. ] As I said, it is only right to address one by the name they prefer. It would be rude to call you by another name or title, and I know you did not intend to offend me with 'Miss'. ...I'm not making you uncomfortable, am I? [ She sounded a little worried. Joseph snickered off to the side. ]
..Not a fan of some of the sizes of the evolutions? [Interesting. So he didn't like dogs and large animals in general seemed to make him uneasy. Good things to know. She'd have to make sure she kept Rocket back if they ever met in person.] There are some rather large Pokemon out there so I don't blame you at all.
[Tseng blinked then looked distraught, pointedly ignoring Joseph as he shook his head.]
No! No, not at all, Claudia. I apologize if I made you feel that way!
[ Joseph snickered again, this time at Cissnei. Walter pondered whether to correct her assumption. Should they battle or meet face to face with certain members present, it would quickly become clear that he did own, and got along very well, with several large pokemon; Psyche his Drifblim, Ophiuchus the Gyarados and of course, Robbie. The Bewear's ball was currently in Walter's belt. ]
...it's only canines. When I first came here, I couldn't be near any of them. But, I'm getting better. [ As evidenced by him holding and petting his Vulpix, as well as owning several fox-like Pokemon by choice. Claudia lowered her ears sheepishly at Tseng's reaction. ]
You just seemed a bit uneasy, talking to me.
Edited (I love coding fails, they're so gud) 2017-07-16 08:58 (UTC)
[ Walter hummed. One animal...he wasn't fond of dogs, bats, moths or leeches. But his dog phobias, he was working on. The others he didn't care to address....except for the one giant moth in his life. ]
Yes....but, I do not want to hold them back, should they wish to evolve. I just need to be ready.
[ Claudia was only lost even further by Tseng's behaviour. It seemed like bringing it up had bothered him? ] Oh...thank you for saying that. But, I was impolite when we first spoke.
I'm sure they understand. Pokemon are very intuitive, especially when they've been with you for awhile.
[She smiles, head tilting.]
And I'm sure, with time, it'll get easier.
[Oh Claudia. Claudia you are such a darling. The Riolu fights the urge to whine, really not wanting to have to explain why he was acting like he was but--]
No, you--it's alright. You didn't realize it. And I--I promise you there is nothing about you that bothers me. I think you are very lovely, Claudia.
[His voice is soft as he chances a glance at her, getting a little fidgety now.]
..I apologize if my behavior upset you. I just..I am not use to feeling like this..about others.
[ He nodded quietly. As if on cue, Claudia looked up at him and pressed against him comfortingly. She is not in a rush to evolve yet, although she would like to someday. Right now she was a plain, small thing...evolving wouldn't change her 'plainness' or make her prettier in her opinion, but it would grant her new strength to look after Walter.
Which is why she couldn't understand Tseng. Lovely? Feeling 'like this'? She tilted her head slightly, not frustrated or upset. Just unsure as to what he was saying. ] It has not upset me. It only worried me, that I might have upset you. I'm...not sure what feeling you are experiencing. But if we are to be friends, I trust you will manage it. And...I would like to be friends with you.
I very much want to be friends with you, Claudia. [And he would manage this. He'd get it under control because there was no reason for him to act like a fool.
At least not until he's older.
Cissnei gently rubs one of the Riolu's ears before she let's out a thoughtful sound.]
You look good, by the way. More at ease than you have been before.
[ Normally he would duck behind his hair but it was tied up. At least he has some of his fringe, still ducking his head a little shyly. He spoke softly. ] Oh...Thank you.
[ As Walter came over bashful, Claudia smiled gently to Tseng. ] I'm glad.

[ Joseph just gave Tseng a catlike grin, noticing how angry he was becoming. ]
It's upsetting him to not see you, Claudia.
Oh? How strange.
Maybe he wants to be 'awestruck' by you!
Do not tease, Joseph.
[ As the Pokemon chattered, Walter thought back to the opening of the video. ]
Did the very tall Pokemon and the Vulpix also belong to you?

I don't like talking to disembodied voice.
[Visuals gave him an eye of what he was dealing with. It helped him create a profile of the individual. A voice did nothing for him. At least he had a name now, though.]

[Not as big as something like a Houndoom or a Mightyena, she imagines, but fairly big all the same.
Tseng may or may not be blushing in his own way, ducking his head just the slightest bit as he clears his throat.]
Of course, Claudia. My apologies. And thank you. Again, I mean. For not using that terrible nickname.

Understandable. Everyone has that one animal they aren't a huge fan of.
[She was honestly indifferent about most animals; not really bothered by much. At least not that she was aware of yet.
Ears drooping, Tseng shook his head again.]
