"Yes." Walter opened his sandwich and considered it, before nodding to him.
"Come back to me before the weekend." Darkness hopped forward and affectionately fussing with Walter's collar, accepting a rub under his chin before spreading his wings and taking off, soaring towards his love.

Walter watched him go quietly, but turned and nodded to Petey when the Espurr appeared. Jennifer took the seat beside Walter, sitting so she could peek over the tabletop. At the sight of Petey, her ears lowered. Espurrs were very strange. She never knew what to make of them.
